Biography

Dr. Hanie Edalati is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Department of Psychiatry at Université de Montréal and also collaborates with the Université de Montréal’s Dr Julien/Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation Chair in Community Social Pediatrics. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies of Psychology and Psychiatry from the University of British Columbia and has a background in clinical psychology. Her research focuses on the effects of growing up in an unfavorable environment, and in particular adverse childhood experiences, on development of brain, personality and behaviour, and the risk for substance abuse and risk-taking behaviours in adolescents. Her research contributes to designing and implementing of targeted intervention programs for at-risk children and adolescents.
